• Sharks can sense electric fields with special organs on their snout called the ampullae of Lorenzini!
• The deepest diving animal ever observed in the ocean is the Cuvier's Beaked whale! It dove to a record 2,992 meters, or 9,816 feet.
• The leatherback sea turtle is the largest sea turtle, with a shell length of 1.8 meters/6 feet, and a weight of 635 kg/1400 lbs!
• A humpback whale's song can last as long as half an hour.
• The deepest living fish we've ever found is the Mariana Snailfish, living at depths of 8,178 meters/26831 feet.

• Less than 10% of the ocean's sea floor has been mapped.
• The world's longest mountain range is called the Mid-Oceanic Ridge, and it is 56,000 km/34797 miles!
• If you put Mount Everest at the bottom of the Marianas Trench, its peak would be 7000 feet/2133.6 meters below sea level.
